Today’s Occupations, Tomorrow’s Opportunities (T.O.T.O.), is the platform, and its innovative career exploration tools are designed to help students and career changers navigate their professional paths. The website includes the Wizard of Jobs, which helps users estimate the salary needed for their desired lifestyle, an electronic portfolio, which provides record-keeping for career development and readiness, and curates resources for supporting students and facilitators.

Session Speakers

Rosy Marquez is a Research Analyst for the Labor Market Information (LMI) Division with the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL). She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Washburn University and has been with KDOL's LMI division since 2022. Rosy's role involves marketing and publication development, where she helps turn labor market data into clear, useful information for a wide range of audiences.

Laura Crosswhite serves as the Deputy Director for the Labor Market Information (LMI) Division with the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL). She graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied statistics and joined KDOL’s LMI division in 2019. Laura oversees the development and communication of LMI's data products and websites, which can help data users make informed decisions for a variety of purposes, including career planning and preparation, public or private workforce investments, employer recruiting plans, and business investment decision making.

Gideon Hockenbarger is a Data Analyst with the Labor Market Information Division of the Kansas Department of Labor. He started as an intern in 2022, becoming a full-time employee following graduation in May 2023. As a part of LMI, his focus was initially on database updates and technical documentation, before he shifted to front-end development for the division’s two websites: the Kansas Labor Information Center (KLIC) and Today’s Occupations, Tomorrow’s Opportunities (T.O.T.O.)
